37 new HAM SATs

During week 47 were shot, or were placed, 37 satellites with amateur radio equipment on board in orbits around the Earth. It was a record . On Tuesday and Wednesday , 19 and 20 November , was four out of the International Space Station. The rest were sent in connection with launches in the U.S. and in Russia.

One main drawback I found while operating my homemade SDR-1000 clone is a number of keyboard and mouse manipulations, which has to be done for setting different modes. Well, in the beginning it was fun to use a mouse for radio control... But it is getting more and more annoying if you have several applications on top of each other on the same screen and you have to switch e.g between logbook and PowerSDR for adjusting filters or so. Would be better to have separate controls/tuning knobs for common used parameters, like in "old radios".

INTERRADIO - 2013

MS season 2013

The Quadrantids (QUA) shower was stronger this season, compared to a season of 2012. Maybe because of my new 6el DK7ZB monobander. I started monitoring at 1th of January, heard few "ping" late evening. And next two days band exploded with many bursts, with mach longer duration that last year!
